The Santa Clarita Valley Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will be held on Thursday, May 6th at 7:00 a.m. at the Valencia Hyatt.  It will be a wonderful time of fellowship and prayer and all are invited to attend.  Registration and tickets are available online at www.scvmpb.com.

Starting This Sunday Pastor Scott & Dan Vanherden (our Biblical Counseling intern from The Master’s College) will be teaching a four-week Bible study on discipleship.  Discipleship is something that Scripture commands each believer to be doing and often it is a lack of understanding or fear of the unknown that keeps us from obeying God’s Word.  Discipleship is not at all hard and we want to give you the tools to be obedient to God’s Word because it is commanded and we know you want to be faithful.  The class will be held at 9:00 am in Room 311.

Tim & Martia Franklin serving the Lord in Brazil

Excerpt from April 17th letter: “We are thankful that we get to study, teach and preach God’s Word. The semester at seminary is going ‘full steam’.  We teach 1 Corinthians, O.T. Survey and Intro. to Theology.  Saturday afternoon kid’s club at church continues to have strong attendance even with the rainy season beginning.  Please pray for someone to take Martia’s place teaching the little ones.  Besides stimulating internal growth of the church (another believer to serve), we’re hoping to start ministry at the Serrinha church plant, probably also on Saturdays.  Please pray for God’s leading.  Thank you again for your part in serving Jesus.”

Kirk and Juanita McKeeth: Excerpt from prayer letter: “April 1 found Juanita and me at Farmway Village just west of Caldwell.  Farmway Village is the name used for what at one time was called ‘the labor camp’.  In the western Treasure Valley many of those in Farmway Village work in the fields.  Many used to be seasonal workers who would come and go.  Now, more are more permanent.  The event on April 1 was a census event.  We did our own survey about the Bible, church attendance and interest in spiritual things.  Of 49 responses, 36 said ‘Yes’ in response to the question, ‘Would you like to talk with someone about spiritual life?’  Nearly all of those 36 gave information for further contact.”
