Weekend to Remember

As you may have heard announced the last few Sundays from the pulpit and seen published in our bulletin, every married or soon to be married couple is being encouraged to attend Family Life’s ‘Weekend to Remember’ marriage conference to be held the weekend of April 17-19 in the city of Ventura.

Family Life was co-founded by well known Christian speakers and authors Dennis and Barbara Rainey. The ‘Weekend to Remember’ conference will address some of the most fundamental issues facing every marriage today, including the following:

Why Marriages Fail
Effective Communication
Unlocking the Mystery of Marriage
Achieving God’s Plan for Marriage
Our Relationship to God
Resolving Conflict God’s Way
Sexual Intimacy from God’s Perspective
Husbands’ and Wives’ Role in Marriage
How Marriages Thrive
Leaving a Godly Legacy

Some of the sessions will also include application projects for you and your spouse to work out together.

Today, Sunday, January 11th is Installation Sunday.

Our pastor, Scott Basolo, will be formally installed and we will have guest speakers Dr. Bill Barrick in the morning service, and Dr. John MacArthur in the evening service.

Please note that we are changing our evening service time to 6:30 tonight (on the 11th only).

For about 20 years, Scott Basolo worked as a structural engineer in what he called the “professional world.”

Living in Idaho, Basolo served as a youth director for his church, until, at one point, he said he heard the Lord’s calling.

The Worship Choir will be singing this Sunday, June 1 in the morning worship service. We will meet at 8:30 a.m. to rehearse “Knowing You.” I think you all know it! Pastor Plew will be leading and our new pastor, Scott Basolo, will be in attendance at the morning service and will lead the communion service. I know you will all want to be there!

Senior Pastor Scott Basolo is the new Senior Pastor of Santa Clarita Baptist Church!

His first Sunday will be the first weekend in July!

The congregation has voted to call Scott Basolo to the office of Senior Pastor at Santa Clarita Baptist Church.

Pastoral Prospect Speaking this Sunday (4/27)

Pastoral Prospect Scott Basolo will be preaching this coming Sunday, April 27 and next Sunday, May 4.

Scott lives in the Saugus area with his wife Karyn, and their two sons, Averyl and Peter. and is currently finishing studies at the Masters Seminary. Scott has a passion for God’s word, a passion for people, and a strong desire to fulfill the great commission.

Come this Sunday to find out more, and hear Scott preach at Santa Clarita Baptist Church.
