David Hughes is back from Togo and is seriously considering going back and pursuing full-time ministry there in Mango.  Please be in prayer for him as he looks to the Lord for His leading in this.

Whitewater Rafting The men’s ministry at SCBC has organized a two-day rafting trip down the American River.  The dates are August 20-22. The cost is $140 per person and there are 18 spots available.  If you are interested please get your $70 deposit to Dave Grimes or Pastor Scott as soon as possible, as the list is already filling up.

Men’s Theology For Dessert Pastor Scott continues a study of the doctrine of Christ, or Christology. He is using Dr. Greg Harris’ excellent book, The Darkness and The Glory.  The next meeting is this Friday night at 10:00 pm atPete Proctor’s Baskin Robbins on Bouquet Canyon Road.

Gap Announcements

The first Sunday of every month at 7:00pm we will be having a fellowship time at the Sonnenburgs.  This is open to all college students and young adults. The first one will be on August 1^st. Hope to see you there!

Church Beach Day Saturday, July 10^th from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm there will be an all-church beach day at Silver Strand Beach in Oxnard.  Bring your own food and have a great time together! Small barbeques are allowed on the beach.

Goodbye to Josh and Holly June 6^th will be Josh and Holly McCarty’s last official Sunday with us. We’d like to say good-bye to them after the morning service with a lunch.  We are planning to have sub sandwiches and asking the youth group to bring 2 bags of chips or 2 liters of soda.  This event is for all current and past youth group members and their families.

Please join us this Thursday as we conclude the series Hospitality in Our Heart, at 7:00 p.m. in the Home Ec room. We encourage all ladies to attend even if you have not attended any of the first three sessions.

June   5^th at 10:00  to  12:00 Women’s Ministry will host a  Brunch Fellowship with guest speaker Vicki Smith, Women’s Director of Conservative Baptist, Southern California. Vicki will be sharing on “10 Stupid Things that Godly Women Do to Mess Up Their Marriages“.  Registration will be available at the Women’s Ministry table today. The cost of this breakfast is $5.00. Annual Business meeting: We encourage everyone to attend our annual church business meeting next Sunday, June 6^th at 5:00 pm. 

SCV Pregnancy Center Don’t forget to pick up a baby bottle in the back of the church and fill it with your loose change.  All proceeds help keep the SCV Pregnancy Center in operation.  Bring them back on Father’s Day.
